MADRES is the Spanish acronym for a support group that the founder of MADRES created in the absence of linguistically and culturally congruent perinatal mental health support for immigrant mothers struggling with anxiety and depression in their new country. Its translation is mothers overcoming anxiety, depression, radiating emotions and healing. Madres is also plural for mothers in Spanish.
